One Piece is set in a world of vast oceans with pirates sailing the waves and fighting with their eternal rivals, the marines. Since the death of the last Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, no one has been able to find the mysterious One Piece and claim his title for themselves. Monkey D. Luffy is a young pirate captain who dreams of becoming the Pirate King, to that end, he gathers together a crew of misfits to travel the Grand Line and claim the One Piece for his own. Luffy once ate the magical Gum Gum Devil Fruit which has granted him a body that stretches like rubber and has a high resistance to trauma. However, this power comes with the downside that whenever he is immersed in water he loses all of his strength and risks drowning.
